Basic Policy on Personal Information Protection

Toyota Financial Services Corporation, as a member of “Toyota,” plays a central role in overseeing the financial operations of the Toyota Group, based on a management philosophy that prioritizes customer interests and needs.

1 Management of Personal Information

We comply with all applicable domestic and international laws and regulations concerning personal information protection, as well as guidelines established by the Personal Information Protection Commission and other domestic and foreign administrative agencies.

2 Acquisition and Use of Personal Information

In accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (Act No. 57 of May 30, 2003), we acquire personal information through lawful and fair means. We also use the personal information entrusted to us within the scope of the purposes of use that were publicly announced or notified when acquiring the personal information, in accordance with the same Act.

3 Security Control Measures

To appropriately manage the personal information we acquire, we implement organizational, human, physical, and technical security control measures and will work to prevent and rectify any leakage, loss, or damage of personal information. If we outsource the handling of personal information to a third party, we will require such outsourcee to handle the information properly and will properly manage the outsourcee. Furthermore, when we or our outsourcee handle personal information in foreign countries, we will take necessary and appropriate measures for security control by understanding the personal information protection systems of the relevant countries.

4 Provision to Third Parties and Joint Use

We will not provide personal data to third parties except in cases permitted by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and related laws and regulations, or when we have obtained the subject individual’s consent. When jointly using personal information, we will publicly announce or notify the subject individual in advance of the purposes of joint use and other matters required by law.

5 Disclosure, Correction, and Suspension of Use, etc.

Upon the request of the subject individual, we will appropriately respond in accordance with laws and regulations to requests for disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, erasure, and suspension of provision to third parties with respect to the retained personal information.

6 Continuous Improvement

We will review as appropriate and work to continuously improve our management system for handling personal information based on changes in social conditions and the environment.

Handling of Personal Information of Officers and Employees of Business Partners and Personal Information of Officers and Employees Provided by the Parent Company and Group Companies

1 Purposes of Use

The respective personal information will be used within the scope of the following purposes of use:

1 Personal information of officers and employees of our business partners and personal information obtained in connection with inquiries to our company

  1. Negotiation, communication, consultation, review, ordering, settlement, and handling regarding transactions;
  2. Exchange of services, etc. based on transactions;
  3. Provision, collection, and communication of information regarding our company and our services, etc., and response to inquiries; and
  4. Other purposes of use publicly announced or notified by our company when acquiring personal information.

2 Personal information of officers and employees provided by the parent company and group companies

  1. Negotiation, communication, consultation, review, and correspondence related to operations;
  2. Business management of group companies; and
  3. Other purposes of use publicly announced or notified by our company when acquiring personal information.

2 Provision to Third Parties

For the purposes of business execution, business management of our group companies, legal compliance by our group companies, and other responses to inquiries, we will provide personal data to our group companies and business partners to the extent necessary to achieve such purposes. We will not provide personal data to third parties except in cases permitted by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and related laws and regulations, or when we have obtained the subject individual’s consent.
